About the Artist: Meredith Martin

Meredith Martin is a Columbus-based fine artist whose work captures the spirit, color, and energy of the natural world. Drawing inspiration from her years in the American West and her studies in pre-Columbian art and architecture, her paintings blend bold design with emotional depth. Since becoming a full-time artist in 1996 when she founded Sunbear Studio, Meredith has exhibited nationally, built a dedicated collector base, and created hundreds of original works across pastel, oil, and mixed media.

In 2003, she founded her Gallery, which grew from a small collective of local artists into a thriving creative hub representing more than 40 Ohio makers over its 20-year run. Today, Meredith continues to create new work, and teach adult art classes. She has exhibited across the country, including the following cities: St. Louis, Atlanta, Providence, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Akron, and Columbus. She has a long-standing presence at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress, where her portrait and western-themed commissions remain in high demand.

At the heart of her work is a deep appreciation for connection—between people, landscapes, animals, and the moments that shape us. Her art invites viewers to pause, feel, and experience the world through color, texture, and emotion.
